Expert Tip

They drink from their petals! Mist blooms with water. If wilted, submerge entire flower head in cold water for 45 mins.

Vase Care

Cut the woody stems at an angle and split or crush the base so they drink freely. Change the water every 2 days and keep away from heat and direct sun.

Common Problems

Wilting despite moist soil can mean root stress; dropped buds follow draughts or dryness; faded blooms are simply spent and can be trimmed.

Propagation

Propagates from softwood stem cuttings taken in late spring.

Pruning

Deadhead spent blooms and lightly cut the plant back after flowering to encourage a fuller shape and a stronger next flush.

Fertilizer

Feed every 2 weeks while budding and flowering with a bloom-boosting fertilizer.

Repotting

Repot after flowering into fresh soil, one size up if the roots are crowded.

Seasonal Care

Feed and water generously through the growing and flowering season, then cut back and let the plant rest over winter.
